UV Laser
for Micro-machining
U.S. Laser Corporation
announces the development a compact UV laser for materials processing
applications. The Model 403TQUV laser is a Q-switched, frequency quadrupled,
high-efficiency, TEM00 Nd:YAG laser. It delivers 0.25 watts average
power in nominal 100 ns pulses at a 3 kHz repetition rate. The repetition rate
can be adjusted manually or electronically, from single-shot to over 5 kHz,
permitting high-speed materials processing. The 266 nm laser wavelength and
diffraction-limited beam quality give the 403TQUV superior focusing ability. The
small spot size, coupled with strong UV-polymer interactions, makes it ideally
suited for photoablative micromachining applications. The UV output beam is
separated from the 532 nm visible beam by a unique optical assembly which
preserves the optical axis. The separation yields a UV/green contrast ratio
better than 1000:1. If operation at other wavelengths is desired, the 403TQUV
can be rapidly reconfigured to run at 532 nm or 1064 nm.
U.S. Laser Corp. is
the leading U.S. manufacturer of Nd:YAG lasers and laser systems for industrial
materials processing. We offer the widest range of output powers (from 7 watts
TEM00 to >2000 watts), plus Q-switched, frequency doubled and
quadrupled models. Our beam delivery systems (conventional and fiber optic) are
state-of the-art in beam quality and transmission, and feature integrated
coaxial CCTV viewing. We can provide standard and custom turnkey systems for
welding, cutting, scribing, trimming, soldering, and specialty applications. Our
fully equipped laser applications lab is available for demonstration and process
development.
