Cooling System Parts
Water Pumps, Centrifugal
These close coupled centrifugal water pumps are selected specifically for use in pumping coolant water in laser systems. All parts of the pump exposed to water are plastic or other inert material, and are ideal for use in distilled and deionized water systems. Pumps are available with both single phase and three phase motors, and impeller sizes as listed below. Centrifugal pumps are popular for use in laser systems because of their high water flow capability. The U.S. Laser pump line accommodates most commercial laser systems. Contact the U.S. Laser sales department for special pump requirements.

Water Pump, Turbine
These regenerative turbine water pumps provide an effective alternative to centrifugal pumps when moderate pressure and high flow is desired. The pump housing and impeller are fabricated from 316 stainless steel with Viton seal and ceramic seat. Pumps are available with dual voltage single phase motors, which are typically much lower horsepower than corresponding centrifugal pumps due to the pups higher efficiency. For further information on these pumps for laser applications, please contact the U.S. Laser sales department.

Proportioning Valves
Proportioning valves are designed to regulate the water temperature in laser cooling systems. When properly installed, coolant water temperature can be maintained to +/- 1 °C. Regulating temperature is factory preset and is not adjustable. Because proportioning valves constantly regulate the water flow, they do not suffer from the severe temperature swings typical from other systems, and are not affected by changing heat load conditions. Valve is constructed from plastic, stainless steel and other inert material to be fully compatible with distilled water. Two valves are available, one for most common laser systems, and one for high powered systems that require higher water flow. If you are unsure of the proportioning valve you need, please contact the U.S. Laser sales dept., we will be glad to assist you in selection of the proper valve.
