Harmonic Generation
Harmonic Generator Assemblies
The U.S. Laser Harmonic Generator systems include a cell mounted, angle tuned SHG crystal and a 5 axis adjustable mount. These systems are designed to be used with acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers operating in the fundamental mode (TEM00), and include any optics necessary. Description: |
| N1007-1 |
KTP Intracavity Frequency Doubler Assembly. Used to generated the second harmonic of Nd:YAG at 532 nm. Includes a high quality 3mm x 3mm x 5mm, Type II, A/R coated KTP crystal. A special dichroic front laser cavity mirror is included, which fully reflects the fundamental (infrared) beam, while efficiently transmitting the second harmonic (green) beam. |
| N1007-1-A |
As above, but with a heated crystal and temperature controller |
| 1007-2 |
KTP Intracavity Frequency Doubler Assembly. Used to generated the second harmonic of Nd:YAG at 532 nm. Includes a high quality 3mm x 3mm x 3mm, Type II, A/R coated KTP crystal. A special dichroic front laser cavity mirror is included, which fully reflects the fundamental (infrared) beam, while efficiently transmitting the second harmonic (green) beam. This is the same system as the N1007-1, except with a smaller crystal for use with lower powered lasers. |
| N1007-2-A |
As above, but with a heated crystal and temperature controller |
| N1007-3 |
LBO Third Harmonic generator assembly. Used to generate the third harmonic of Nd:YAG at 355 nm. Includes a high quality 3mm x 3mm x 10mm, A/R coated Type II LBO crystal. A special dichroic front laser cavity mirror is included, which fully reflects the fundamental (1064 nm) beam, while efficiently transmitting the second harmonic (532 nm), and the UV (355 nm) beams. This system requires the N1007-1 KTP frequency doubler described above. The LBO THG assembly is used intracavity, and the output from the system is a mixture of both 532 nm and 355 nm outputs. An inline dichroic beam separator assembly (N1015-2) is included, which efficiently rejects the 532 nm output while transmitting the 355 nm UV output. |
| N1007-3-A |
As above, but with a heated crystal and temperature controller |
| N1007-4 |
BBO Fourth Harmonic Generator assembly. Used to generate the fourth harmonic of Nd:YAG at 266 nm. Includes a high quality 4mm x 4mm x 7mm, A/R coated Type I BBO crystal. This system requires the N1007-1 KTP frequency doubler described above. Because the BBO FHG assembly is used extracavity, the output from the system is a mixture of both 532 nm and 266 nm outputs. An inline dichroic beam separator assembly (N1015-1) is included, which efficiently rejects the 532 nm output while transmitting the 266 nm UV output. |
| N1007-4-A |
As above, but with a heated crystal and temperature controller |
Three Mirror Cavity
The U.S. Laser Three Mirror Cavity accessory is used in conjunction with the model N1007-1 KTP frequency doubler to increase the 532 nm output power coupled from the SHG system. Conventional doubler systems, such as the N1007-1, efficiently transmit 532 nm radiation that is generated in the forward direction only. Using the three mirror cavity, an inline dichroic mirror is inserted into the laser cavity behind the frequency doubler. This mirror is specially coated to efficiently transmit the 1064 nm radiation, while reflecting the 532 nm radiation which is generated in the back direction. Using this concept, it is possible to extract as much as 30%-50% more 532 nm radiation than is possible using a conventional two mirror cavity. The three mirror cavity accessory is highly recommended when using the N1007-3 third harmonic generator, or the N1007-4 fourth harmonic generator.

Beam Separator
The beam separator is used to efficiently separate the fundamental beam from the harmonic in frequency doubled laser systems. Its multiple dichroic beamsplitter design provides a high degree of rejection of the fundamental beam (>106) while its inline configuration makes it significantly easier to use than dispersion prisms. The final dichroic is kinematically mounted to provide beam steering of the output beam.
