Power CW Nd:YAG Laser
U.S. Laser Corp.
(Wyckoff, NJ) has once again raised the standard in high power, high brightness
CW Nd:YAG lasers with the introduction of its new 408 series. Taking U.S. Laser’s
single-lamp-per-head technology to a new level, a single head system produces
700 watts, 50% more power than previously obtainable. Higher power, multiple
head systems are also available. The single lamp technology, compared to
conventional dual lamp designs, yields higher efficiency, which in turn improves
beam quality and brightness, while reducing equipment and operating costs.
The 408 Series is
available with either fixed or fiber optic beam delivery, both of which feature
low loss ( 98% transmission) delivery. The systems are ideal for metal cutting
and welding, as well as specialty applications such as rapid prototyping. They
are also available in a special low-divergence configuration for applications
demanding extremely small spot sizes.
